Calgaréal - square - bigger title.png

Calgary-Montréal is a collective of four musicians from Montréal and four from Calgary. Coming from different horizons, these artists find a common interest in traditional musics and improvisation. Their original show presents their conversations in music; conversations between two cities often pictured as wildly different, conversations between different musical traditions.

From Calgary we have:

Aya Mhana (oud, voice)

Jeremy Gignoux (violin, viola)

Jiajia Li (flutes, dizi)

Robin Tufts (percussion, drums)

Visiting from Montreal are:

Aurélien Tomasi (clarinet, saxophones)

Hugues-Olivier (double bass)

Mathieu Langlois (guitar flamenca, saxophones)

Sébastien Leblanc (guitars, caval, tilinca)

Calgary-Montréal will be presented at Theatre 1308 on Nov 4 and 5 and at Maison de la Culture Mercier in Montreal on December 10.
